Being Consistent Is Exhausting!
Everyone talks about how important it is to be consistent when you’re parenting. But not everyone talks about how exhausting “being consistent” actually is!
One parent described the guilt she experienced when her children were not acting responsibly because she was not consistent in asking them to do more around the house. The truth was is that it was easier for her to do things herself.
Fortunately there are some things you can do to make “being consistent” less tiring.
Of course, there will be times when you don’t follow through. Please don’t beat yourself up for that. Just identify the reason you didn’t follow through, and use that to find a solution to do something differently the next time.
