Respond Effectively To Big Emotions

A 4-week group skill-building program so you can

handle the drama in your home with confidence

You love your child, but their big reactions can drive you crazy.

And you know you don’t always handle their drama well.

Often how you respond — yell, use a calm voice, send them away, or even stay close by — only makes the situation worse.

But you’re not sure what to do INSTEAD – because nothing has worked (for more than a week or two) so far.

Within the first 10 minutes of this program, you’ll find out why these strategies fail… and then you’ll learn a step-by-step process for responding in a way that reduces the negativity, drama, and reactivity in your home.

BUT this program is not just about learning new INFORMATION.

You’ve already read books and blogs and have a lot of information swimming around in your head.

It’s about practicing and mastering a process so that you can take action and see results.

In this uniquely-structured program, I will not only will I teach you the process, but I will give you the tools you need to feel successful at each step. We will practice these tools together (through worksheets, practice, and other exercises) and you will take action on them each week.

I have created this program with to allow you to TRULY experience a shift in how you think about and respond to your child’s behavior — using experiential techniques to help you understand your current reactions so that responding to them in a new way becomes natural and intuitive.

You can learn to handle this.

I know it’s possible to shift from feeling helpless and depleted… to feeling confident and in control.

In fact, I’ve helped over a thousand parents get to that point.

And during this 4 week program YOU will learn how to…..

Stop walking on eggshells whenever you notice that your child is in a “mood”… or could get there easily

v

Know exactly what to say and do when they’re in the middle of a big emotion or strong reaction

Address your own obstacles so that you don’t get sucked into their drama.

Successfully incorporate tools and strategies into your (busy!) life to finally see results that last.

Have more time & energy because you didn’t spend all of it managing their emotions

Since we’ve taken Rachel’s class, it is so much calmer in our home now. And it’s not just because my son knows how to handle things better… The whole family knows how to handle them better too.
P.T., Mom of 3

The meltdowns in our house were happening all the time. We felt like they controlled our lives. Now we know how to prevent them… and how to deal with the (few) that happen from time to time. I can’t tell you how much of a relief that is!
A.V., Mom of 1

I’ve spent the last decade working with parents like you.

I’m Rachel Bailey, Parenting Specialist (and former therapist) who has been supporting parents who are raising children with big emotions for the last 10+ years.

Although I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology and have served many roles in the field of psychology (ADHD Coach, Academic Coach, in-home mentor, psychotherapist), my passion has always been helping families reduce the drama in their homes.

That’s because not only have I helped hundreds of parents of foster resilience in their dramatic, sensitive, kids … but I’m also raising a highly emotional (anxious, sensitive) child myself. I know what it’s like to not only feel exhausted worrying about and managing their responses on a daily basis… but also to spend much mental energy worrying about their future and whether they’ll be able to handle life.

I also know that the way we naturally respond to their big emotions and try to foster resilience… doesn’t work. And I know what to do differently. And if I know that if I didn’t have these tools, things would be much worse.

I want to share the strategies that have made such a big difference not only in my home, but in the homes of all of the families I’ve supported over the years.

What We’ll Cover

Z

Week 1 - Reduce Your Triggers

You’ll learn how to identify your triggeres, where they come from, and how to make sure they don’t control you. This means that you’ll start to respond from your VALUES rather than your Yuck.

New Tool For Handling It: Build your “Parenting Avatar”

Z

Week 2 - Shift Your Perspective

We’ll discuss why, from a scientific perspective, your child is reacting the way they are… so that you can start to see their behavior differently and respond more effectively to what’s REALLY going on.

New Tool For Handling It: Shift from useful to non-useful thoughts

Z

Week 3 - Create Your Scripts

I’ll teach you how to create an effective script that you can use ANY time your child has a big emotion. No more wondering what to say and to do de-escalate the situation! You can feel in control, no matter what your child is doing.

New Tool For Handling It: Make your personal “to-don’t” list

Z

Week 4 - Reduce Drama

At this point, you’ll know exactly how to respond to your child’s big emotions. But this week we’ll focus on how to reduce some of the big emotions to begin with. Who doesn’t want to save a little energy?!

New Tool For Handling It: Create a plan to proactively reduce YOUR Yuck

This program is structured so that by the end of the 4 weeks, you’ll see your children differently, respond to their drama differently, and feel a different (more positive) energy in your home!

How It Works

Each week includes an on-demand video training + a live session where you’ll meet and

practice strategies with other parents whose children are similar ages to yours.

Here’s how each of the 4 weeks looks:

Step 1: Weekly Lesson Is Delivered

(valued at $400)

Each week you’ll receive an easy-to-consume 20 minute (or less) video lesson, plus an interactive handout where you can take notes and think about how the lesson applies to you.

Step 2: Join a Live Skill-Building + Practice Session

(valued at $600)

You’ll take part in a LIVE 60-minute session focused on applying the information to your situation and age group. You’ll practice tools and strategies to help you master the process. (See dates of classes in the FAQ section below.)

Step 3: Get Feedback on Your Action Plan

(valued at $400)

After the class, you can opportunity submit an action plan that you create for yourself. If you turn your short assignment in by Friday, I’ll offer my individualized private feedback so that as a team, we can find what works for you.

*Bonus* Two Months Free in Rachel Bailey's Parenting Academy

valued at $35/month

As a bonus to help you with ongoing implementation, you’ll also receive a free month inside Rachel Bailey’s Parenting Academy where you will find even more resources to support you!
{New members only}

Are you ready to learn how to respond more effectively to the drama so that you can help your child in that moment…

and feel less guilty about how things go?

Honestly, I never would have imagined being able to the things I’m able to do with my kids now … and with barely any resistance and no tantrums. It’s really life-changing!

T.P., Dad of 3

Instead of dreading time with my kids, I (mostly!) look forward to it now. Because I know how to respond to pretty much anything that happens, so I feel more in control… and so does my daughter.

S.L., Mom of 2

Still Have Questions?

Here are questions other parents asked before joining.

For parents of what age range is this class appropriate?

This class is appropriate for parents and caregivers for children ages 2 – 12*.

There are two sections of the class (parents of children age 2-6, parents of children age 7-12) so that you can participate with other parents whose children are similar in age to yours.

*If you are a parent of a teen and are interested in this program, please contact me at [email protected]

When will the live calls be?

FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN AGES 2 – 6
Live classes are on Tuesdays from 7:00-8:00 PM EASTERN on April 6, 13, 20, 27.
Pre-session lessons will be sent on April 4, 11, 18, 15.

FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN AGES 7 – 12
Live classes are on Tuesdays from 1:00-12:00 PM EASTERN on April 6, 13, 20, 27.
Pre-session lessons will be sent on April 4, 11, 18, 15.

All live sessions will be recorded if you can’t make it live.

What is the time commitment for this class?

I know you’re busy. Every single activity was created specifically with the goal of saving you time and energy by teaching you how to create a more positive dynamic in your home.
Realistically, your commitment for the 4 weeks of the class is about 1 1/2 hours per week (including the 1-hour live session) over a few different interactive activities.
Each week you will:

  • Receive a 20-minute (or so) video lesson + note-taking workbook
  • Participate in a 60-minute live class (or watch the replay if necessary… but honestly, I’m told by other parents that participating in the class was what changed EVERYTHING for them!)
  • Be assigned homework that takes about 10 minutes to complete.
What if I don't finish all the materials in the 4 weeks?
While the class was created so that most of the transformation happens “live,” you will have access to the resources and replays forever. That means you can complete it in your own time and refer back to it whenever needed.
What's included with my class investment?

For $450, you receive resources and support that is worth $1400

  • 4 video lessons + interactive worksheets
  • 4 60-minute live, intearctive sessions and replays
  • 4 homework assignments (with individual, private feedback provided if handed in by a certain time)
  • Access to the materials so that you can refer back to them after the class is over
What if I can't join the live calls?
Of course things come up in life! While I highly encourage you to make as many of the live sessions as possible, you will always have access to the replays of any session that you may have to miss. You’ll have lifetime access to all materials.
What if I don't want to be part of a group?

It’s not uncommon for people to initially feel hesitant about joining a group. However, once parents join a group they understand the tremendous benefit. And after having helped over 1,000 families, again and again I see more progress with people who join a group rather than receiving individual support. Here’s why:

  • You receive the same step-by-step process you need to reduce the drama in your home as you would if we were working one-on-one
  • You feel less alone. You realize, with relief, that others are struggling with the same problems you are
  • You can be open and honest about what parenting is really like. In the classes I teach, I am honest about my imperfections… which often motivates others to be genuine as well. And hearing that others don’t live the “Facebook/Instagram life” — where families are happy and smiling all the time — can, in itself, help reduce our stress
  • You learn from others. Although I have lots of tips to offer, other parents also add value with suggestions for what has worked for them

What if now's not a good time? Can I join this class later?

If I offer a class on this topic again, it would not be until late 2021.
However, I encourage you to consider joining now because kids’ big emotions don’t tend to decrease on their own. Relationships — and kids’ self-esteem — can also deteriorate the longer that these issues are not addressed properly. Working on these issues does ultimately SAVE you time… remember too that you’ll have access to this information forever and can implement it as you are able.

It’s Time To Reduce The Drama For Good!

Join me and other parents to master the strategies, tools and techniques that can lead to a calmer household in just 4 weeks – plus keep it that way for the long term..
