Episode 36

When I speak to parents about staying calm, they often say things like “I would stay calm if only my child would stop acting that way!”

And it may be true that we can be more calm when our kids (or spouse or anyone else) is doing what we want them to do.

But do we want to ONLY be able to stay in control of our emotions when people are doing what we want them to do?

In this episode, you’ll learn a tool — that doesn’t require anyone else to behave a certain way — that will allow you to stay calm, no matter what is happening around you.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

  • Why not losing your cool is completely related to your “story”
  • What happens in your brain when you focus on trying to get others to do what you want them to do
  • Simple questions to ask yourself about the situations that normally trigger you… so that you are much less likely to lose your cool and much more likely to handle the situation effectively
